Celebrating Tellabration is a hallmark event of the guild, comprised of its member storytellers. It's purpose is to showcase great storytelling, promote the storytellers who tell the stories, and cultivate new members -- all to support our mission and vision.
Our Mission
Patchwork promotes storytelling as a vibrant, contemporary art form, as well as a folk tradition, a way of celebrating life, and a tool for personal and social transformation.
Our Vision
Patchwork's vision is to enable storytellers a forum to make complex ideas plain and meaningful through the art of storytelling, to highlight that similarities outweigh differences among people and cultures, and to forge paths to informed and humane decision-making.
Tellabration will take place on Saturday, November 19 @ 2 PM at
The Rotunda4014 Walnut Street
University City, Philadelphia, PA.
This event is a showcase for multiple tellers and timing is a consideration. Stories should be kept between at about 10 minutes. There is some flexibility, but please do not submit anything that exceeds 15 minutes. If in doubt, don't do it or contact us.
(Space for an optional, second story submission is provided for a second choice of story from applicants should there be stories that are too similar or don't complement the emerging overall theme of the program.)
Show Details:Tellers are expected to arrive no later than 1:30 PM.
Other things worth noting:
(If this is an issue, please make note for editing purposes.)
Each selected teller will receive a stipend of $100.
Please contact Denise McCormack with any questions or concerns. 609-807-8238.

Guidelines
We ask that tellers tell their best stories, the ones they love the most but that are new to our audiences.
If we are unfamiliar your work, we may ask for an audition via Zoom or similar or a video of your telling the story.
Timing is almost everything, and a mark of professionalism. It is important to be as precise as possible when listing your anticipated story time. Again, no story over 15 minutes will be accepted.
